Gee, cross-product promotional marketing. That never happens. Who woulda thunk it?

If Intel is willing to pay CiG to use its brand to promote Intel products, what the heck is wrong with that? Heck it even may be just a "product in kind" deal: Intel gives CiG free or deeply discounted product.

Regardless of the details of the deal, this proves that:

a) Star Citizen is considered a good enough brand to use in promotions for products that appeal to the same general customer base (this is a good thing!)

b) Hardware makers are aware that SC will drive sales as SC customers are expected to invest in their hardware and will according use SC as a benchmark (as those same customers will)

I wonder if any hardware or peripheral manufacturer has ever approached Derek for cross promotional opportunities?
