I 500/10 recommend Clover Amour's. I have both the complete Steel Set and the Original Set and have used them exclusively since November 9, 2014 (hell yeah I remember the exact date - it change my life, yo!).
For me, nothing really compares to the weight, ergonomics, heads, and shafts of the Amours. Someone once told me as I was preparing my things for a flight to MN that I should pack a cheapy hook just in case I wasn't allowed to bring it on the plane and thus had to dump it at TSA - my response was basically "if I can't bring my Amours, I'm not effing going."
ETA - Curious about which hooks you did purchase from aliexpress. What did you like about them, if anything? What would you change?
You could look into the clover amour hooks. They are similar to the boye hooks with the rounded tip but have the wider handle and go up to 6mm. The standard set goes as small as 2.25mm, but they also have a set of smaller hooks. The sizes are slightly different than boye (ex, G is 4mm instead of 4.25mm). They have the mm sizing on the handle, plus the standard J, I, H, etc. where applicable.

As someone who has been crocheting for years, yes it can make a difference. The yarn will glide over them better and a good ergonomic hook can keep your hands from hurting
