They fucking folded it? That’s horrendous. You may be able to flaten bits with a craft iron (something like this ) in order to target just the broken bits and not wreck the rest.

I haven't used one but a lot of people swear by them. If it is just a seam on a log cabin block or something I just finger press if I can get away with it.
