If you are not familiar with Kimberly Miller's book, she made a suicide attempt after returning to her parents hoard. I hear this kind of desperation too often.

Hang in there.

My parents are not hoarders but I did read a fascinating book on the subject by Kimberly Rae Miller titled "Coming Clean." Miller's parents are both hoarders and she describes how difficult that made her childhood. It's a heartbreaking book but well worth reading.

I have the opposite problem of hoarding. I keep my possessions very sparse. If I'm not actively using something, I get rid of it. I rarely get attached emotionally to objects. Hmmm ... I wonder what's going on with that.
If you're interested, I read a book not so long ago that documented the author's struggles of living with a parent who was a hoarder. I picked it up for like 2 bucks at a random college's bookstore, but it's around 10 on amazon right now. It's called " Coming Clean " by Kimberly Rae Miller.
