I use a table top hair dryer for the days I can't let my hair drip dry. I use a shear scarf over the top to tent it. I purchased mine from Amazon for under $30 it works great and folds up to a compact portable shape.

But you look so nice with that curly hair!

Okay, we have similar hair types, and if you want a more relaxed curl, you can try using a creme to style it. Cremes are thicker and more moisture so they're heavier on the curl making it curl less.

Another route, and I don't think this is feasible, is my salon always makes my hair less curly - like practically wavy, but I think it's because they put it really wet under the hood, and every time I sit under the damn hood my hair looses the tighter curl. I don't think it's worth it to buy a hood for what you want, but that's up to you to experiment with. Here's one on amazon for an example.
