That is awesome! I know the feeling and it's wonderful. If you haven't already, I recommend making getting ready like an event. Every morning when I wake up I go put on a pretty robe and make tea in a fancy teacup. After that I go sit down at my desk where all of my makeup/hair products are easily accessible, turn on my light and put on some music. It makes me feel glamorous and look forward to my daily ritual of getting ready.

I bought this one for just under $30. It has the light around the oval, and has a magnifying side. Honestly, I've never used the magnified side, but some people might find it useful, I just have trouble staring at that much detail (must clear all the pores!). I have a vanity table that I use it on and the vanity has it's own mirror, but I like how the light helps to highlight my face so I usually just use this mirror and then back up for the "big picture" in my main mirror.

I did a poor job answering your questions, but I really like having it and find it very useful because I can lean closer without smashing my hand into a mirror since it is small and the light is concentrated to my face. It didn't change how I applied makeup other than I can probably get closer to apply eyeliner than a standard mirror on the wall.

Hi everyone,

What are your favorite vanity top/countertop makeup mirrors with lights? I'd like one that plugs in and magnification is not necessary.

This is my current mirror:

And this is an example of the type of vanity that I have:

I would like to have something larger and brighter than what I have. I don't have much natural lighting in the room. I'm open to anything really. My budget doesn't go up to Simple Human mirror level price but I have some leeway. I'd love to hear everyone's recommendations!

I'm not at my dorm room right now (I will try to post a picture tonight if I remember!), but I use about half of my desk for my makeup area. I do my homework about 80% of the times in places other than my desk, so I don't mind not having as much desk space available for studying. I have an acrylic lipstick organizer from TJ Maxx and this acrylic organizer (which I have used for more than a year and 100% recommend). I use this lighted mirror to do my makeup while sitting at my desk--the lighting isn't great, but it usually works well enough for me to not have to fix anything after looking at myself in better light.

I find that this set up keeps everything relatively organized and in view while still not taking up a ton of space!

2 Ottlites and a Conair light up oval mirror.
(The two big windows on either side help too.)

I like the Ottlites because they're a good simulator of daylight, and fold up when you're not using them. And I like the oval mirror because it has x1 magnification on one side and x7 on the other, which was hard to find for a light up mirror.

I'll never be able to sit at a large desk with a beautiful mirror at the end of it either.

My setup is on my desk and I plug in a light up mirror that I can have an inch away from my face. I also bought a cheap makeup organizer on amazon to have enough room on my desk.

If you're having trouble seeing and want to put your makeup on at a table, invest in a small light up mirror that you can pull towards you. I got this one:

I'm sure you have, but have you tried a magnified mirror? A lot of makeup mirrors are regular on one side, and magnified on the other. I use my magnified side for really close up work, so it might help for you.

This is the one I have.

I have a Revlon one similar to this that I really like. I would suggest going to Bed Bath and Beyond and check a few out in person (that is where I got mine from) so that you can see what the lighting looks like in person.

u/Chandra_Nalaar · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction I like this one a lot! I warn you, though, you're going to get really into cleaning up your eyebrows when you get that 7x magnification. My boyfriend and I both did!
