Late reply again, this is my throwaway and since interest wasn't too big, I forgot to check.

I have no regrets, it was fun and I still follow news and old stories on heists and thieves and am fascinated by masterful stories (D.B. Cooper, the Lufthansa heist, all the classics). If you're interested, I just finished reading an autobiographical book called Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief by Bill Mason. I finished it in one sitting, it was a pretty good book.

It was a rush and a challenge to do what I did and since I wasn't committing petty theft (i.e. stealing underwear from retail stores and stuffing them in my jacket), then the fact I could just walk away with expensive merchandise from stores and never be caught pleased me in a weird way. On occasion, me and a friend would do night robberies that were covered in the news that required extensive planning, the haul was always at least 5-10k$ minimum in items combined after selling them. Their actual values were of course higher, but getting rid of stolen merchandise, especially ones with serial numbers and various ways of identifying them to people you can trust really cuts down on profit margins. Too many people get caught because they sell their goods to a certain guy who would buy stolen merchandise and resell it, they go down and rat out every single supplier for a lesser sentence.

Sorry for going on for so long, but it's really pretty hard to answer that question as a one-liner due to so many factors. The tl;dr is I don't regret it and it's most likely one of the most exciting things I've done thus far in my life. Big retailers have factored theft in their business and it's just a drop in the ocean for them, thus why I never took on small businesses since it could cripple them and knowing many small business owners (and now being one) I know how much hard work and sweat they pour into their businesses.
