Would you rather use this or this?

The random dell keyboard it is arguably the best normal keyboard for PC. Does typing things and isn't shit quality, what else do you really need?

But yet, gamers still buy the Corsair keyboard because it offers features they desire.

It's the exact same with a controller. This is somehow difficult for you all to understand.

I have a Corsair K70 LUX Red LED with Cherry MX Browns which I got for ~$80 USD on sale. I like it a lot and haven't had any problems but several people have had issues with multiple or garbled output from certain keys with earlier models so that's definitely something to consider.

One feature I find myself using a whole lot more than I thought I would is the volume wheel which feels very smooth and is very convenient to the point where I consider it a practically necessary feature at this point.

If you haven't yet check /r/buildapcsales or /r/mechanicalkeyboards from time to time to get a feel for different prices. There are lots of (well, maybe the same few, I dunno) budget Cherry MX keyboards that go on sale for ~$50 or so from time to time.

  • Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013
  • Keyboard: Corsair K70 w/ Cherry MX Reds
  • Headset: OLD Astro A40s
  • Mic: [Blue Yeti](https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Yeti-USB-* Microphone-Blackout/dp/B01LY6Z2M6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1487966502&sr=8-3&keywords=blue%2Byeti&th=1)
  • Speakers: Altec Lansing 251 5.1 6-speaker system (I actually have the older version of these from around '03-04)

Just bought the Blue Yeti and I'm pretty happy with it. I've had the A40s for 5-6 years and it's probably time to replace it soon. Great headset, but I don't need an attached microphone anymore so probably replacing it with a decent set of studio headphones within the next year or two.

Love my K70 and Deathadder. Not really much to say on either. They're pretty no-frills, comfortable, accurate peripherals.

Difference from this one from amazon for 89.99 and the one from Corsair website 99.99?

I'm going to assume that you didn't include the monitor, keyboard, and mouse in your $100 budget. I'll set your peripheral budget at $500.

Gaming Desktop ($959)

Gaming Mouse ($50)

Gaming Keyboard ($110)

Monitor ($180)

Total: $1,300

I don't have a wide knowledge of monitors, but I think this is the best deal for its specs. Try /r/monitors

I hope I could help. Best of luck.

Just get Cherry MX Reds, they don't click. Also grab some noise dampeners to bring the noise down some more.

I should have put K70 Lux. Its not the K70 RGB MK.2.

u/SeedyOne · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Hey gang, question as someone relatively new to mechanicals. Being picky about my keyboards, I wanted to grab something I could test/try out in a store so I settled on a Corsair K70 Lux (Brown switches, red LED non-RGB).

It's been great to use but after a few months I'm noticing lots of double-presses (chatter?) on various keys. If it were just blowing out a key every few weeks that'd be fine but it's multiple keys and happening often (3-4 a week, usually vowels or common keys like R, S, T). Cleaning them always fixes it but often it takes more than just air (power off/disconnect + isopropyl dab) so it's becoming a real pain.

I'm a bit of a neat freak but my keyboard does get a lot of use and I do have pets. So at this point I'm unsure if this is jusst normal stuff I have to deal with or as my friend claims "Corsair's firmware is junk" and that their "chatter awareness" isn't as good. Any advice appreciated.

I don't know how to fix your specific problem but I can recommend the keyboard I use, as I know it works perfectly. (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlit/dp/B01ER4B8B4/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474311426&sr=1-4&keywords=k70)
