If you buy the parts individually, it costs $500. Not really a deal. Individual prices/links below
You could save even more by using G.SKILL Ripjaw Vs and choosing a cheaper B350 board or get an X370 board for the same price.
Yeah, it's a combination of things. First, RAM is insane right now. Second, this is the best looking RGB LED RAM on the market (my personal opinion). I personally am an LED whore, and genuinely considered getting this before I went with the Corsair Vengeance for $50 cheaper. I'm one of those people where having a great rig will make me happy, but having it look sexy would make me even happier. So I spent the extra cash on stupid stuff like RGB RAM and the HUE+.

bought this rgb one for £117 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XRFNWHK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
>DDR4 RAM that's also RGB for some reason
[I don't know if you were joking or not, but here you go.]

this the same kit?
You can find brand new 3000mhz kits for around 80-100$
RGB vengeance PRO 3200 CL16 100$
Im looking at pretty much the exact same build. I was just about to get this kit to go with the 2600x. At £117 I feel like its a pretty good deal.

Yes yes yes, but you're missing a few things. Please purchase the following items (they're all links):

I bought some rgb Corsair ram, and it was actually the same price as an non rgb model(LPX) with same specs. Sub $100
Now that i look at the prize on amazon, I consider myself lucky. The same model is now priced $211.
Yep, I actually got mine off Amazon, not sure why I linked Newegg.
Amazon prices.
This is actually cheaper than the LPX non-RGB version.

same price as amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XRFNWHK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1
Well this is where I'm actually kind of unsure.
What I am looking to purchase is this: 2x16 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro
What I already have is this: 2x8 Corsair Vengeance RGB, which has been discontinued.
So if anything I would think that there are minimal compatibility issues, but I'm concerned with being able to set both pairs to the same clock speed in my BIOS without jumping through hoops.
Amazon has the RGB variant for $159.97

I bought a pair last night at microcenter with price matching.
Those are what I use, a 3000 set OC to 3600 stable, [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1501899848&sr=1-3&keywords=ddr4) and [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2x8GB-PC4-24000-CMR16GX4M2C3000C15/dp/B06XRFNWHK/ref=sr_1_18?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1501899872&sr=1-18&keywords=ddr4&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A677429011) and [this] (https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-288-Pin-Memory-F4-3000C15D-16GVKB/dp/B01EI5YUB2/ref=sr_1_27?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1501898963&sr=1-27&keywords=ddr4&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A677429011) just a few to show, should all work very similar and OC well too.
Going from 2400 to 3000+ has shown to give a nice increase in performance, so always good to get the best you can for a few bucks more maybe.
Should definitely check out some YouTube videos though to see where higher frequency ram will excel at!
Thank you for the feedback it's helped quite a bit. I found the QVL list for the intended motherboard and extra information along with it, I believe to have narrowed down my search to 2 RAM and would like your opinion on which one I should get:
Corsair CMR16GX4M2C3000C15 Vengeance RGB 16GB 2 x 8GB DDR4 3000MHz C15
G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB Series 16 GB 8 GB x 2 DDR4 3200 MHz
I don't know if I'm looking into this too much but I appreciate the help you have given me :D
so either of these will be okay?

also do you have any proof with regards to the samsung b-die issue not being an issue anymore as all the research i have done only shows people complaining about the issue and the digital foundary video was fairly recently uploaded too
thank you, much appreciated! 😁 i guess i could have worded that better because thats basically what i was wondering. i wasnt sure if the RGB vengeance series was as good as the LPX ram with the same specs (as far as reliability and all that goes)
