I use [size 14 plastic mesh] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00114M18S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sXewDbQ4G154H), I did have to order it from amazon because my Joann’s doesn’t carry that size. It also feels more comfortable to work with than most plastic canvas I’ve tried

I used 14-count clear plastic canvas, and I stitched with three strands (recommended on the packaging). I alternated between two needles—a 26 tapestry for the x stitches and a thin, sharp sewing needle to pull the thread ends under the back stitches. Here is a shot of the back of the keychain.

I typically buy all of my supplies at Michaels but they never seem to have the 14ct in stock, only 10ct. Ended up ordering from Amazon. A few days later I ran across some at Hobby Lobby.
