This is a totally self-serving post, but when you publish a book, that's all you want to do: you want to climb to the highest tower and unfurl a flashing 30-story LED banner that screams at people to buy it.
Delirious Delhi is a portrait of India's capital from the perspective of two temporary, befuddled ex-New Yorkers who are living and working there.
You know what's crazy? The New York Times Magazine called it "The fullest, most vivid portrait of a city in years." THAT'S what should be on the LED banner.
Anyway: pride, fear, self-loathing. Those are the feelings of publication day. Thought I'd share it with you. More at DeliriousDelhi.com. Give it a read?
Oh, and here it is on Amazon.

A review by sophisticated first-world NRI on Amazon..
>Prager is too nice to really call a spade a spade. The living conditions in Delhi and most of major Indian cities are horrific. Conditions are simply appalling and inhumane. There is no governance- people are breaking traffic laws, spitting, urinating/defecating openly with resultant chaos and filth everywhere. And add to that constant threat of Islamic terrorism in major Indian cities.
>Not sure what Prager likes about Delhi. I do agree on his liking for Indian food though.
So Dave, how many people did you see shitting on the streets here in Delhi? Even though I have grown up in Delhi, I haven't seen anyone shitting on the roadside.. yet.. urinating yes, shitting? Still haven't seen. :(
