Just to clarify, all standalone editions of the game get this early access. This info is also showing on the base game, but not yet on the bundle. No telling whether or not it will be added to the bundle (here's hoping, though).

These are the retailers that can get you beta access. Private retailers can not. Just pre-order the game for Beta access. Online retailers will send the code via email. In store such as Gamestop will print your code on your receipt. Once code is attained you will have to register with https://www.bungie.net/ and redeem your code!

I linked just the PS4 copies since that is what I preordered on, was gonna add the rest but thats quite a bit, anyway enjoy!

See you starside guardians!

To add some clarification about codes:

  • Pre-Order Code aka Beta Code: Bungie's code that marks your account as someone who can receive download codes.

  • Download Code: What we'll actually receive starting on the 23rd. We will receive three (3) download codes per platform we selected.

Download codes are platform-specific (i.e. PSN code, Xlive code) and can be given to anyone since they are not tied to an account. It's just like the codes you get off gift cards or in games for DLC. You can give them to anyone. The Bungie codes were just for Bungie to be able to know who to send to and what platform to send them for.

    Narrative Examples

  • Bob pre-ordered Destiny off Amazon.com. Bob received a 9-digit code in his email (Beta Code). Bob went to http://bungie.net/beta and redeemed this code on his Bungie account. Bob then logged in today and selected Xbox One (Global) as his region and platform. Bob will now receive 3 download codes on the 23rd that he can use and give to two (2) other friends on Xbox One.

    FAQ

    Q. When is the Destiny Beta?

The Destiny Beta will begin July 23rd for Xbox One and 360.

    Q. How do I get a Destiny Beta code?

To gain access to the Destiny Beta, you must pre-order a copy of Destiny from participating retailers, or find a code in the wild. Please don't beg for codes.

    Time and supplies are limited.

You can pre-order online and find information about participating retailers by visiting the website linked below.

    http://www.destinythegame.com/wheretobuy

    Q. Where do I redeem my Destiny Beta code?

Go to http://bungie.net/beta and follow the instructions on the page to reserve your spot in the Destiny Beta.

You will be required to log in with a valid Bungie.net account, verify your email address and age, and enter your Destiny Beta code.

Once you have redeemed your Beta code, your account will be approved for Beta access. At a later date, but prior to the Destiny Beta live date in 2014, you will be contacted via your email address, allowed to select your preferred console platform, and given a Destiny Beta download code.

If you do not receive an email, you will also be able to review your Beta status at any time in your Profile / Redeemed Codes. Link

    Q. I’ve already pre-ordered. Where can I locate my Destiny Beta code?
If you pre-ordered on October 1st, 2013 or later, the code is either printed on the receipt, on a flyer you should have received at time of purchase, or sent to you via email through a retail rewards program.

If you pre-ordered on or before September 31st, 2013, your pre-order retailer may have already emailed you your Destiny Beta code. If not, you should contact them directly to receive your code, assuming they are a participating retailer.

The code is 9 digits in the following format: XXX-XXX-XXX

    Q. My retailer isn’t participating in the Destiny Beta program. How can I get a Destiny Beta code?

You must pre-order from a participating retailer to gain access to the Destiny Beta.

    http://www.destinythegame.com/wheretobuy

    Q. Which console platforms can I choose from?

Destiny is officially available for pre-order on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The Beta will also support all four platforms. Your Destiny Beta Code will grant you access to one of these platforms.

You can now select your prefered platform on Bungie's website Your choice of platform for the Beta is not tied to the platform you have preordered, and you will be able to select your preferred platform prior to generating your Destiny Beta download code. You will receive 3 download codes for the platform you choose.

    Q. I own both a PlayStation and an Xbox. Can I claim multiple codes if I want to play the Destiny Beta on multiple console platforms?

Yes. You may claim as many as four Destiny Beta download codes – one for each supported console. Each will require a separate pre-order at a participating retailer.

    Q. I’ve waited 24 hours for a verification email and have not yet received an email from Bungie. What do I do?

Some email providers may block emails in an effort to reduce unwanted “spam” email. If your email inbox utilizes a spam or junk folder, please check it to determine whether or not your verification email has been inappropriately categorized.

You may also add the email address [email protected] to your email address book, and attempt to resent the verification email from the code redemption website.

    Q. I am getting the error “Too Many Failed Attempts. You may try again in 24 hours.” What do I do?

For your security, if too many incorrect codes have been entered your account will be locked from entering codes for 24 hours. This lock will be removed automatically after 24 hours after which you can enter codes again. Customer Service will not be able to remove this lock any earlier.

    Other questions

Q: Do you think it will be possible to pre-order Destiny, enter beta, then cancel the pre-order while keeping beta access?

Hypothetically you can but I would advise you not to do that. Doing so will make Bungie very sad, and cause you to be slingshotted into the sun.

Q: When will I receive my beta code from Amazon?

"Starting on October 3, 2013. All customers who pre-ordered Destiny before October 1, 2013 will also receive a beta access code."

Q: I already pre-ordered from GameStop/EB Games! How do I receive my code?

You can receive your code by visiting the location that you pre-ordered at, and asking them to print out your code.

Pre order at amazon

Wouldn't have been easier to just load up any retailer selling Destiny and check to see if it's being offered than posting here and waiting for an answer?

It's a physical copy but amazon has it for 40 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BGA9Y3W/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/179-2734166-5072154 also you should check r/ps4deals every day

Questions from a DLC perspective:

What specific copy of the game do you have?

u/TravelerHD · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

If you're looking for digital code, buy Destiny: The Collection. It has all of the past games and DLC, and will include the upcoming DLC that releases on the 20th.

If you're looking for a cheaper way to get a feel for the game, you'll have to get a physical copy. You should be able to get one off Amazon for less than $10. That will give you a very limited experience though, so I wouldn't really suggest it unless you're highly skeptical and have the money to buy this plus spend another $60 (if you like it and want to buy Destiny The Collection).

There used to be a free demo, but I can't find that one the store. If you find it, that will let you play the first six missions or so.

  • See my reply to /u/Jymtarr for my comment on Mass Effect.
  • Since I've downloaded Fable III for free last month, do you think that's a proper representation of the series, or should I go back to Fable I?
  • Hopefully AC2 being free this month sparks an obsession with the series!
  • Once Tomb Raider drops around the $15 range, I'll be sure to grab it, haha.
  • How much is the full series for the Walking Dead?
  • Destiny is for both!
  • I'll heed your warning on Dead Island... the $15 price tag including DLC is tempting, though.

u/Thatoneguythatsnot · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

You got a ups store near by? I'll send you one. Or you could just go to gamestop and pick up a used

http://www.gamestop.com/ps4/games/destiny/110079

http://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Standard-Edition-PlayStation-4/dp/B00BGA9Y3W

Or amazon used for about the same price.

u/Kaleptik · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

I mean, if you don't mind using a physical disk, it's $17.88 on Amazon.

u/-xe · 2 pointsr/GameDeals

Both of your links are to Amazon.com, not Amazon.ca. Amazon.ca currently has Destiny on PS4 for $59.99.

u/ghambyt · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

The Amazon.com link for Destiny says the send them out within 1 business day. I would think the UK division would do the same thing.

u/AgentNine · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

With the Limited edition you'll gain:

  • Limited Edition SteelBook case and game disc

  • Guardian folio

  • Arms and Armament field guide

  • Postcards from the Golden Age

  • Antique star chart

  • Destiny Expansion Pass

  • Collector’s Edition digital content

The big takwaway IMO is the expansion pass, which is $35 by itself. It's sold out at Gamestop, but you can buy the Limited for X1 at Amazon.

Honestly I would say....

If you just want to play the game....go physical

If you want to play the game and get a bunch of goodies...Go Physical Limited

If you want a complete destiny experience without all the bric-a-brac go Digital Guardian Edition

If you are really crazy...like me...you could always go insane

https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Standard-PlayStation-Digital-Code/dp/B00BGA9Y3W?th=1

$12.93, used(!)

Maybe contact the seller and see what's up..

u/Berg9940 · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

If nothing else, I'd get it to play the crucible (PvP) since the PvP doesn't feel as fun in D2 to me from the beta.
You can buy D1 on Amazon for 12 bucks!

u/Selcouthit · 1 pointr/gaming

It's $30 today on Amazon. Not sure how long the deal lasts. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BGA9Y3W

u/ganstaman42 · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

You can get a vanilla disc for about $13 on amazon

u/AutoModerator · 1 pointr/GameDeals

Charity links:

u/o_nobunaga · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

yes, you can still find it: https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Standard-PlayStation-4/dp/B00BGA9Y3W

It'll be suckish as hell, after you finish vanilla, maybe you want to consider buying ttk after vanilla, cause you would have ttk and the prior two dlc's house of wolves and the dark below but those two are also suckish as hell (maybe HoW not so much cause it's little fun with variks)

u/itrolledyougood · 1 pointr/PS4

Yeah, no

Destiny is a AAA full priced retail game. I have no idea how you've come to the conclusion that it is or ever was free.

u/wishful_cynic · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I checked the product page.

It says you can still order it for Release Day Delivery, but you'd have to add to your basket and see how much that costs now - whether it's the Two-Day fare or the Overnight fare.

u/taunshaft · 1 pointr/gaming

Try Amazon instead.

u/reaper527 · 0 pointsr/xboxone

>Maybe $60 is a bit steep for Rivals, but would you rather see a holiday sale where it drops to $20 a few months after release, or a slowly depreciating price tag starting at $55?

it's already available for roughly $30 any day of the week right now, sometimes hitting sales as low as $20.

you are vastly underestimating how quickly physical prices tank. hell, you can get destiny used right now for $35 shipped, and that game's barely a month old.
