I believe a couple days? I haven't really left them for long than that. Once they're cooked they can be kept a couple days too.

Quick note on time saving: If you wanted to cook beans regularly, time saving options here include a slow cooker (very cheap- you can sometimes find them for 10 or even 5 bucks at yard sales- but very slow), or a cheap rice cooker (no more than 35$ new, tops) with automatic shut-off, which both allow you to throw them in a pot with water and leave them to cook while you do other things. However, if you're in the kitchen cooking other things anyway, you can always start by putting on a pot of beans (always start the longest-cooking foods like grains/beans first, then do the shorter cooking fruits/vegetables, to save time, and their cooking times will kind of "line up" at the end.).

The TL;DR: about your B12 questions is going to be that "the differences aren't huge."

I haven't compared them yet, but let's do that now!

Daily you want 100 milligrams of cyanocobalamin B12, weekly you want 1000 milligrams of cyanocobalamin B12 (and it's recommended you take it twice weekly).

So here's a brand, Deva, that has 100 milligrams (so it's daily) and costs about $11.90 without shipping, for 90 tablets.

Another brand, Natural Nutra has 1000 milligrams (so it's "weekly", but we'll be following the recommendation to take this amount twice weekly) and costs about $12.01 without shipping, for 30 tablets (which means 30/2= 15 weeks of pills because we want to take twice weekly, which is 15*7 = 105 total days).

Deva: $11.90/90 days = 13.2 cents a day

Natural Nutra: $12.01/105 days = 11.4 cents a day

So they're very close in price (and the Deva daily multivitamin even includes other things. If you found an only B12 daily, it might be even lower in price, and the difference even smaller).

Weekly B12 is potentially slightly more effective because higher single doses are absorbed better than lower single doses. In a very small number of people, very high doses of B12 may increase acne. Those are about the only differences I've read about. Again, neither dosage amount is a safety concern.

In the end, the cost and medical differences aren't really that big, so you may want to choose based on other factors, like convenience.
