Currently, it's two miracles, but the Pope can override that.

St Faustina had visions of Jesus. You can read about them in her Diary. In it, she describes how she received the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Yes, I have struggled with this constantly.

Read St. Faustina's diary, called Divine Mercy in my Soul. Not sure if there's a free (legal) version online, but it's not an expensive book. I have been reading this for half a year now, and it is completely changing my understanding of love and grace and mercy and God.

Finally I am equipped to fight the self-hatred I've been plagued with for 25 years straight. Finally I am winning the battle with the help of God's grace, through the help of St. Faustina's diary.

An especially great thing about this book is that it's a bunch of bite-sized paragraphs, easy to read in only a few seconds on the toilet or whenever's most convenient for you.

> On top of that, I've only met a handful of Catholics my age who's social skills aren't woefully underdeveloped.

That may not change even when you turn 50.

> I've given myself over to sin and its consumed me. Now I'm sinking and don't see hope.

A quote from my new favorite book:
> 699 On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.

Take advantage of this year of Mercy. Advent and Lent are opportunities to refocus on the spiritual priorities. Look forward to Divine Mercy Sunday (1st Sunday after Easter) and give yourself reasonable goals such as no smoking weed on Sundays and Holy days of obligation, but overall pray to lose the desire to fall into sin whatever it may be. Take your family to Mass.

>Most celebrities do an AMA at some point

What was wrong with the AMA God did do?

In the fullness of time, God (the Word) became flesh and dwelt among us. He was born of a woman, born under "the Law"; was subject to every temptation, just as we are; was made perfect by what he suffered. His coming was foretold by the prophets; an entire nation was set up to prepare for his coming; and the Church has born witness to him for the last 2,000 years.

He's communicated and answered questions both during his earthly (public) ministry as well as after his resurrection--to Saul/Paul on his way to Damascus, and to many seers since then whose apparitions have the approval of the Church. (See "The Diary of St. Faustina". Also, (but not exactly the same thing) "The Dialogue of St. Catherine of Sienna")

How about a copy of C. S. Lewis' The Great Divorce?

It's a story of a man in Hell who has been given the opportunity to visit Heaven, and if he would like, to stay there. Along the way he encounters the myriad ways God gives grace to people, especially to those who would never have expected to receive it. It's an easy and enjoyable read, and it might be good for someone who is struggling with worry over their eternal destination.

There is also the Diary of St. Faustina. She was a Polish nun who received hundreds of visions of Christ, who told her about the great lengths He would go to give mercy to those who would ask for it. She detailed these visions in her diary, and after many years these revelations became the foundation of the Divine Mercy devotional. It's certainly more mystical, and it does contain some harrowing visions of Hell. However, it also shows how hard you'd have to work against God to get there. If anything could cure the despair of Hell, it'd be that book.
