The doidy cup! My kid stopped taking bottles for some dumb reason but readily drank from these cups starting around 12weeks.

So, I freaking hate how expensive this cup is, but my 5mo is loving it already with some help from Dad - and I'm going to have to order more when she starts eating dinner with us at night and all that. I'm probably going to get one for my niece too since she's been having a similar problem as you.

I'd suggest a straw cup over the sippy -- sippys are more akin to bottles (to ease transition for bottle-takers) and since he doesn't take a bottle it may not be worth it. My daughter never reliably drank from a bottle either (no matter what we tried), I feel your pain. When I was away (which was full-time daycare at 3.5 months) it was so stressful but an open cup/doidy cup (with help) saved us and after six months we introduced a straw cup. First these because they are free-flowing/easier to learn on (for her), then these once she got the hang of it. What really helped her learn to use the straw was to get a regular ole straw, stick it in water/milk and cover the top (so it holds some liquid in it) and then drop the liquid in her mouth (slowly let go of the top of straw). Then move to her sucking on the bottom of the straw while you let the liquid flow, then put it in a cup and let her try. She didn't get the concept until we did this, then after two times she was all about it. Now at 22 months she drinks from an open cup on her own when seated, a 360 cup or straw cup when on the move. Good luck!
