I just finished (literally got back this afternoon) a two week tour on a largely stock 1994 Virago 750. I added saddlebags, a sissy bar bag and tossed on a tent, sleeping bag and a $8 inflatable mattress from Walmart. The tent, bag and mattress played a bigger part in comfort as a backrest than anything else I've done. No highway pegs or windshield and still has the original seat.
