This essay is part of the book "Down and Out in Paris and London". It's a fascinating autobiographical work by Orwell when he lived in the slums and recounts his life of misery and poverty. Highly recommended.
Between this and the chair thread, your posts are reminding me of the first time I read Down and Out in Paris and London. Compelling shit, but holy fuck, sorry about your situation.
My life has been mighty shitty. I remember spending my last $20 dollars on groceries and accidentally leaving all of it on the bus. I wept when I got home and realized my mistake, and I went hungry for three days before I got paid again. A decade later those memories or more vivid than all the good times I've had since. I have no safety net in terms of friends and family; if I make a single mis-step in life my roof will come falling the fuck down on me. The horror of my life falling apart keeps me awake at night.
I won't patronize you with bullshit, but know that if you're ever looking to hit up /r/Random_Acts_Of_Pizza I'll be the first person to hit you back.
Best wishes.

Down and Out in Paris and London while in London
Lovers at the Chameleon Club while in Paris.
Another great one is Down and Out in London and Paris by George Orwell. Its really a gripping story of just what is is like for those who live in poverty on a day to day basis.
This gif of Putin made me giggle yesterday.

I'd love a used copy of this book which is on my default list if I win!
This is the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow. Pirate so brave on the seven seas.

Even though it's debated on whether it's autobiographical or not, I'd recommend reading "Down and Out in Paris and London".
