I'm pretty certain that is the DDC Pretty Much Everything book.

It's not out until tomorrow, but Pretty Much Everything by Aaron Draplin will be worth a purchase if you're into design.

Maybe some cool, inspiring coffee table books? Something like:

Well I mentioned the idea of "inspiration books" a couple GD's ago. I ended up ordering Aaron Draplin's book and then this book too. I'm pretty excited.

Other than that I've got a bit of sewing to finish up, a counseling appointment, and then going to my dads for a day late Father's Day celebration.

What's everyone else up to?

Yes, very much this. I have his recent book as well, which features a lot of awesome quotes and samples of his work.

This would be a good book, as would this one.

Aaron Draplin's Pretty Much Everything is pretty awesome. It's funny, insightful, and also contains a lot of high quality, inspiring work.

You are thinking of Aaron James Draplin! I'm not sure what Ted Talk video you are referring to but here is a video where he talks about his inspiration. The book you are referring to is Draplin Design Co.: Pretty Much Everything.

This one is fun and handy to keep at your desk. Ofcourse, you could just google questions, but it feels nice to fan through it sometimes.

There's a lot of mixed opinions about this one. Some people don't like how he makes logos, others love his 80's inspired, fun branding. Nevertheless, it's great for inspiration.

Edit: The graphic guidelines for NASA and the New York Subway are great and fun for inspiration, grid systems and structure.

Edit 2: I love Pentagram, and luckily there's a book with all their marks. It's called Pentagram: Marks, and It's a great book to keep in your bookshelf.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I am looking more for inspiration in form of beautiful designs and pictures.

Something like this for example:

But your book looks interesting nonetheless!

when I was in college, my girlfriend at the time got me a graphic design book as a gift (something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Draplin-Design-Co-Pretty-Everything/dp/1419720171) I think it helped give me ideas when I was working on projects for classes
