I use the Raspbee Premium. Its good, £14 less expensive than Conbee II but not plug and play, still requires a bit of a fiddle adding lines to start up scripts etc.
Once set up Zigbee devices are plug and play.

If you look on Ebay there's someone selling flashed CC2531 sticks for £11, but I think if you took the time to learn how to flash the sticks yourself you could add as you need range (or just plug in an IKEA bulb to add range).

That's surprising... I've had this tab open up for a while deciding if I actually need it or not, says ships to Australia from amazon.com but after clicking buy it says they can't ship it to Aus...
But you can still buy items from the US store, just a lot of them don't ship to Aus, the most recent item I purchased from .com was May this year.
