I just stopped biting a two or three weeks ago. I'm using Mavala Stop (literally the grossest thing I have ever tasted) and using Duri Rejuvacote to get them to grow faster... (not sure about the results yet :) Congrats to you! We're all gonna make it :)
Use a strengthener on your nails. If you have weaker nails they bend easily, and that causes first the teeny cracks you're seeing (you flex the nail and the polish cracks instead of flexing too). My mom had the same issue and this stuff fixed it for her after a few weeks of use!
I know gel polish is rad, but if you're like me and can't afford the time or money to get them done every couple weeks this might be a good option.

I have peeling nails too, and this stuff seems to help keep them together. Duri Rejuvacote will strengthen your nails and prevent peeling, also makes a great top coat. I heard a story about a chemo patient who used it to grow her nails back quickly. Just be careful not to get it on your cuticles bc it will make them grow like crazy too.
I use Duri Rejuvacote. I actually stumbled onto it at Walmart. It's actually rated higher than OPI nail envy on Makeup Alley. I'm sure either would be good though. I've been using the Rejuvacote for about 3 weeks now and have had no breaks, tears or anything. I love it! I've never had my natural nails this long or strong before.
