my dude u should wear hearing protection to every concert. Hearing loss and tinnitus is not worth it. U can buy specialized concert ear plugs that don’t actually make the audio sound worse but makes high volume sounds less piercing and you can still hear things at low volumes.

If you have the room, bring a futon mattress. It won't deflate or pop like an air mattress and you don't have to use a pump or your mouth to blow it up. It provides better support, it's not plastic so it's not cold at night or sweaty during the day. Plus it makes less noise if you're planning on some fun. ;)

Bring Swimmers Earplugs if you want to sleep at night and an eye mask if you want to try to sleep during the day. The swimmers earplugs don't stick out of your ear like some earplugs and they don't put pressure on your inner ear making it easier to fall asleep. The only problem is they are a little gooey.

On the topic of earplugs, please do yourself a favor and buy HiFi Earaser earplugs. As beautiful as this music is, it could seriously damage your hearing. Only downfall to Earasers, because they are so low profile and transparent, they are easy to lose.

The field that GA camps in is regularly used as a cow/horse pasture prior to the festival. Last year we had a few piles of shit in our campsite. Bring a tarp or blanket to put down and bring some extra grocery bags to remove the poop with.

Yeah, but you gotta spend a little to not ruin the sound quality.

These ones are supposed to be the best, according to this reddit thread. I am going to get some before the next show I go to.

Edit: they're $40 so they're not crazy expensive. I'd say it's worth the money to (a) not wreck your ears and (b) still hear that sweet, sweet nectar.

If you don't mind spending $40, it appears the earasers are among the best on the market. I've heard some horror stories of Dubs brand ear plugs falling apart in people ears resulting in doctors visits. Erasers come in many different sizes. Source: did hella googling and it appears these have good sound and build quality comparable to custom ear plugs. If you are spending $15-20 on a crap pair, might as well fork out the extra $20 and get a lasting, quality pair IMO.

I use Earasers and they work perfectly. They're a little more expensive than some others on the market but these work much clearer than any others I've tried so take that as you will.

Toss up between my Fitbit Ionic and these earplugs.

I use the Fitbit all the time, but I've been trying to go to more live music recently and those earplugs are literally saving my ears from damage, so it's hard to decide which is better.

kind of a bummer tho, I think earasers increased their price http://www.amazon.com/Earasers-M1-S-Musicians-Plugs-Small/dp/B00E2D9FHA I prefer them over the etymotics although I think the etys reduce the sound a bit more

Earasers have been my choice for the last few years.

I have a pair just like those from a different vendor and they're great but for a less visible alternative try Earasers out. I think they may be a bit less protection but they're good for going to a loud restaurant/movie/social situation where you want your hearing protection less visible:

Also just saw these and picked them up as they offer a lot more protection than the other two while preserving fidelity and I've been looking for a 30dB non-custom music ear plug:

I own a pair of earasers they cut down a lot and are pretty damn comfy. The price is a little high but they definately are an improvement over Hearos. I havent tried the ETY's so unfortunately dont have any comparison for those

Used these at two Queens of the Stone Age and royal Blood concerts and they worked great without ruining the sound
