Agree with the others; don't hire it out unless there's an problem. What you can do is replace lines a little at a time at your leisure. PEX is dirt cheap and easy to work with; study up a little on the International Plumbing Code (New York State uses IPC, so you can go off their code book PDF instead of paying a ransom for a copy), get a PEX crimper, become a YouTube certified plumber, and work on it yourself as you do other projects. That way, it's not something you have to worry about a buyer asking $5000 credit on when you go to sell in 6 years.
You can also change the plumbing as you see fit as you go; add an icemaker box behind the fridge, pot filler by the stove if you change the kitchen backsplash, warm water bidet/sprayer in the bathroom, additional frost free spigots outside for convenience... value-added stuff. And if you're on municipal water, ask your water dept if they have a second water meter program for exterior water. My city does, and I don't pay sewer rates on anything that comes through the exterior-use meter. Hose bibbs are plumbed to the second meter.
