What your parents are doing to you is wrong. This is medical neglect at the very least. But since I don't know the particulars about the law where you live, I will only offer advice for coping until you can move out.

Does anyone else change your bedding and do you have any cash of your own? If no one else messes with your bed and you have some cash, I suggest sneaking in an allergen-blocking mattress cover. Wear a dust mask, vacuum the mattress as much as possible, and put the cover on, it should help.

For the chair, try using a clean towel or throwing a large t-shirt over it to wick away the moisture.

I had them in Philadelphia. Here's how I got rid of 'em. Fair warning, you are in for the fight of your life.

You have to be vigilant and dedicated and consistent in order for this to work, but its chemical free and doesn't need a professional. Probably will cost you a little under $200 total.


I ordered bed bug proof mattress and boxspring bags from Amazon (check out the "frequently bought together" deal here) and did ALL the laundry (including the drapes/curtains/etc) on super duper high heat to kill the eggs.


I then put the the bed on risers and cleared out all the storage tubs from underneath. This way, the bugs can only come up from the legs of the bed or drop down from the ceiling. Which they will. Fuckers.


I then took double sided tape and put two separate bands around each leg. This way, when you find bugs on the tape you can tell if they are coming from the floor up, or the bed down.


Put double sided tape around your window sills and electrical outlets. They crawl out of there too. Fuckers.


Then get a carpet steamer or vacuum with decent suckage and vacuum everything to suck up as many eggs as possible.


I also bought 5 lbs of Diatomaceous Earth and put it all over the floor, windowsills, under the bed...everywhere. This kills the bedbugs and can wreck their eggs.

The problem with gases and even professional chemicals, is those stupid bugs will just run away into the walls or other apartments and just come back later. Your only prayer is to make it extremely difficult for them to get to you. Apartment buildings in cities like this are the absolute WORST. Please save your money and health and try this method first. Good luck. You will need it.

Mold spores are everywhere. (Edit: in your home, in my home, at the local library, just... everywhere.) To control them you need to control the temperature and the humidity. Low temp & low humidity=inactive mold spores.

Run the fan when you shower, run the kitchen fan when you boil water, hang your towels up to dry, don't let anything stay wet for long. If you're in a humid climate you might want to get a dehumidifier. I needed one for the basement in my last place. You can tell how humid your place is with a humidity monitor .

For your mattress, you might want a dust mite cover. They keep allergens already in your mattress from getting out, and keep other nasty stuff from getting in. They also make dust mite covers for pillows.

I recommend wearing face masks for cleaning. My partner and I do because we're allergic to dust mites and cleaning's enough of a PITA as it is without allergies.
