First, find a pediatric neurologist and make an appointment with them as soon as possible. They'll walk you through a lot of the things that you will need to know.

You should also check out The Brainstorms series. I got the companion from my neurologist back when I was a teenager, and I still have it to this day. There are a number of books in the series, dealing with everything from childhood epilepsy, women's epilepsy, a guide for friends and family, a personal account book, and a few others. You can get the entire set on Amazon for $25 or so, and you can usually get at least one book from the series for $1 or less. I used to loan out the companion book to all of my new friends when I had to explain what seizures and epilepsy in general were.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. Your son will greatly appreciate all of the help you give him over the years, however. That's one of the most important things you can give him. Support is hard to come by.
