I have this case for mine and have no complaints. It fits snugly and the buttons are crisp. The cover even wakes the screen. Not bad at all for the price.
I recently bought an iPad but I need help choosing an inexpensive case cover. Which material is the best in terms of protection (falls, wear and tear)?

I've had this same case from Khomo on my iPad Air 1 and Air 2 and never had an issue. It's built from a nice rubberized material on the bottom that is comfortable and has never broken on me.
I plan on purchasing an iPad on black Friday as well. Here is the case I ordered. I've used them in the past and they are great.

I use a third party (ESR) smart case and no screen protector. I really can't stand screen protectors on the iPad (I've tried!), although I do have one on the phone.
My iPad Air 2 lives in my bag "as is" with the case, and it's 1 year old, hasn't got a single scratch on it.

I just looked for something on Amazon with lots of reviews that averaged high. I got a case last year for my Pro, I didn’t like the two piece design of the Apple stuff but wanted something to cover the back when I went outside and laid it on the picnic table and such. Something similar to this

Once you find something you like the looks of you can probably find it on eBay for half price and free shipping. They will be listed under various brands, I got mine off eBay for under $10 about a year and a half ago, use it everyday.
