I was going to recommend the Timex Weekender but you seemed to already have looked at it. I'll recommend Rodina because you seem to like clean styles.
Heavily recommended around here is the Seiko 5 SNK8XX series. I have the SNK809 which is the black watch face and I absolutely love it. Can wear it with a black leather band/stainless steel one for dressy occasions or a NATO strap for casual wear.

I purchased this watch over a year ago, and it's still going strong. The retail price is over 100, but I believe it can be had on sale fairly easily if you look around.
It's an automatic, and I've seen some complaints about a loud tick, but that's not been the case at all for me. It's certainly more quiet than the Weekender by Timex, which may also interest you. My only complaint about the Rodina was that the strap it came with was terrible quality, which is unsurprising at the price point. I just purchased an assortment of NATO straps, including one leather, that I switch out frequently.
Another option, outside of the Timex, is this Seiko. It's another automatic, and it's regarded as one of the more reliable budget watches. Seiko has several other watches in the 50-150 price range you may be interested in, so I'd shop around for one that fits your criteria.
You have some options, but if I were you, I'd make my main focus reliability. A lot of cheap watches will stop working fairly quickly, and after that, it doesn't matter how pretty it is. It's now your most handsome paperweight. Stay away from brands like Invicta. If it looks like a Rolex but costs less than a trip to Olive Garden, it's probably trash.

I've had watches before that were gifted. Never had to choose one myself, and now I feel lacking. I can see myself getting into this and I'm looking to buy my first watch.
Trying to structure this per the FAQ. I read the buying guide quite thoroughly and somewhat obsessively, and I seem to gravitate strongly towards the Bauhaus style. My budget is $200, but will do a bit more for a compelling case. Since it's my first and probably won't get another for at least a few months or more, I'd like it to be flexible if I dress up or down. I'm not looking for a one size fits all but for something that can work from casual to business casual. I rarely wear a suit. I also like leather bands and most often wear brown shoes and gray/blue/pink/orange clothes so I feel like brown is the right color.
I don't care so much about the movement, mechanical sounds fine as long as it's not off by minutes a day.

DW is a very "cheap" brand. It markets more than it prioritizes its quality. Simple quartz watch that boomed off of instagram and youtube promotions. Now, if you go through my posts about 3 months back. I asked the same thing, i ended up buying one, i ended up returning it. Bulova is a part of Citizen which is a very very reputable everyday watch brand. My first ever watch was a citizen eco drive that was all black leather straps and i loved it very very much. I would say look for brands that are very reputable and stay off marketing too much. Best everyday bang for your bucks - TIMEX (!) ( super casual not too businessy, and im a business person. i still have a weekender regardless, its awesome.) Bulova/Citizen (perfer citizen but bulova makes great dress watches for cheap and have good quality. Im SUPER pleased with mine and my two favorite watches are both my everyday citizen and dressy bulova).

EDIT: how could i forget Seiko as another recommendation. Great bang for the buck metal linked dress watch if youre in a everyday business setting. switch from metal link watches to leather bands and bam. eyes on wrist everyday as you walk in the office!
I am selling my Rodina Automatic. I bought this thing wore it once and decided it was way too small for me. My plan was to return it to amazon but then I let 30 days expire because I'm an idiot. Great watch to decide if you like Bauhaus style and to wear it around for a few days while you save your Nomos.

Rodina?
Planning on getting my first watch soon, specifically this beauty - Rodina Bauhaus. I'm not familiar with watches at all, but can I buy any similarly sized watch strap and swap it on?
I am thinking about buying this Rodina watch. Is there any reason why I shouldn't?
Also, thinking about other watches but still looking around. Any reccomendations for a watch under $150? I tend to like watches that have a cleaner look to them and I'm not restricting myself to any one style. New to /r/watches and hoping to be around for awhile.
I have the Rodina automatic and I absolutely love it. I've had it four three or four years now and it still looks new. It's a cheap alternative to the Nomos Tangente if you like the Bauhaus look but want a cheaper option.
