Never tried them myself but there's a couple of people in the Amazon reviews saying they have used them with Thinkpads. Doesn't say which model they had.

Just chiming in to say that electrical tape also works without leaving much residue, and blends into black phones well enough.
Otherwise, they do sell webcam covers that one can use on one’s front camera as well.

Thank you again. Seems does a hassle or could be as you say. I also forgot that any software can be hacked and only a hardware fix is 100% reliable. For the laptop and tablet, Even had one for an old usb webcam.
For the tablet, I would recommend placing vertically it with the hole on the bottom in case the tablet gets jostled so the natural movement of the cover would be to keep it closed.
Maybe they used the webcam recently and haven't replaced the cover yet?
