I should add, wax paper is nifty. I use it when rolling out my cookie dough. Dont use it to bake, as it will melt the wax.
Ill lay down a piece on my work surface, dust it with flour, set down my dough and lay another piece on top. Then I flatten it with the rolling pin. Keeps the dough from sticking to the pin. Though, I suppose you could do the same with silicone treated parchment paper, if youre going that route to bake your cookies on.
Ill also second the spatulas. So many spatchulas! Theyre so handy.
