I have a finis neptune mp3 player for swimming. It doesn't use earbuds but rather pads that sit on the bones in front of your ears and are held by your goggle straps. The sound is interesting, it loses some frequencies and others are clear, either way much easier than buds in the water. It made distance swimming far more enjoyable for me
However it is only depth rated for 15ish ft. I don't see a reason why they couldn't design it for higher pressure, I think it's just a niche enough product already and the cost increase would make it not worth it.
