I love the Siri remote and its touchpad’s precise scrubbability of vídeo timelines (with preview/thumbnail.) No other remote or settop box has that level of precision — and fast forwarding or rewinding to a specific desired moment on them always ended up being an exercise in frustration. Not so with the Siri remote. It’s great.
The Siri remote is much better with a case on it though, makes it easier to grip and orient and not get lost in the couch:

There ya go - I'm using this one and it provides a decent grip (why I bought it) as well as good protection for when my cat decides it needs to be on the floor as a toy in the middle of the night.
This one is great. Grippy, easy to pick up, tell which end is up and fits perfectly. Fintie Apple TV remote case
These simple silicone cases solve problem with remote being too slippery and not knowing orientation by feel.

Yep I swear by these Fintie Silicon covers, make the remote much easier to find.
Plus adds bulk, drop protection for the glass trackpad and much needed grip to the damn small slippery thing !
I bought this $7 case, and now I can tell from the feel which side is up:

Join the club. The remote isn't great, even after you get used to it.
Here's why it sucks even if you DO get used to it. When your mother / father / babysitter / in-law / friend comes over, and you hand them the remote, the learning starts over from scratch. So annoying. If you think back to a normal D-pad on a remote or a touchscreen like an iPhone, it's so intuitive - you can get the hang of it on the first try. The ATV remote is not like that at all.
FWIW, we bought this case for the remote. It's grippy, makes it fit in the hand better, makes it harder to lose, and makes it so you never hold it upside down.
