- Remove it
- Stick a nice piece of oak on the top, stain it, varnish it, would make a nice little shelf for potted plants or other knick knacks
- Fill it with soil, would make a nice herb garden (probably partial shade plants only)
- Put a larger oak, or marble/granite, or composite countertop that hangs over to one side, could make a nice bar
- Get a custom aquarium made to put on top
- Stick a gas line in there, fill it with fireplace glass rocks and have an indoor fire pit. You should research the safety of this first though, CO may be an issue without venting.
