Honesty, this has been irritating me sooooo bad!! I have my own IP camera at home and I made it a point to make sure the quality wasn't straight up garbage.
This is what I got for my home and the quality isn't perfect, but it's a huge improvement over what I typically see on TV on the news. I can actually see what's going on. I can identify the person on video. Why waste money on a piece of S**t camera that does you no good?
If the purpose is for deterrence, then I say just get a fake camera... omg I could rant forever on this subject.
I used to be a security guard, having to figure out what happened when the video quality looks like it came out of the 1920's... Just makes me wanna cry.

I second Foscam. As for security just turn off the option to allow access from outside network and change admin password.
