Frownies are an adhesive strip that prevent your forehead from tensing overnight and seem like the perfect solution for you. I don't often see them mentioned on this sub because there is no actual skin-treating ingredient in them, but if used consistently they are magical! https://www.amazon.com/Frownies-Forehead-Between-Eyes-Patches/dp/B00027DMSI

You might need to step up the exercise and pay more attention to the diet. I notice you do not mention weightlifting. If you are not already doing some, start. Building muscle helps your metabolism and also maintains and even increases bone density.

Women on TV eat very little, work out excessively and get Botox, and that's before the professional makeup artists and idealized lighting. In the normal light of day, they don't look like that. I remember reading an article about the filming of True Blood, how in the morning during shooting all the men will attack the food cart and all the women will avoid it. How Anna Paquin knew when her nude/underwear scenes were coming up and would diet and exercise extra-hard to prepare for them, and how the actress who plays Pam just told herself she had to accept that as long as she wanted to be an actress, she was going to have to be hungry all the time. I thought that was pretty eye-opening.

So, I mean, you have options here. Take a hard look at your lifestyle and decide what is and isn't worth it to you to change. If you hate your forehead lines, you can get Botox. For a less invasive but still effective option, I love using Frownies and I've also found that facial toning exercises have also helped a lot. Dynamic wrinkles like forehead furrows are caused in large part from the muscles in your face being unable to relax completely, which is why Botox works (by paralyzing the muscles in a fully relaxed state). You can retrain your face to relax completely and I find these two methods to be very effective for the price. It's cumulative, it's not overnight, it's reversible (meaning if you stop using them and are a frowny mcfrownerton like me, the wrinkles come back), but I like these solutions because they're cheap and because I get the benefit while still keeping the natural expressive capabilities of my face.

Anyway, that addresses the immediate, surface concern. But overall, your "aging panic" is pretty normal. Eventually you'll come to the realization that there's nothing to be done except to live the life you want to live. Yes, aging means that it takes more effort to get the same result--and that you really have to buckle down or else accept a few extra pounds.

I think that when you stop comparing yourself to your early 20s self and busting your own chops for getting older, you will find it easier to appreciate what you have, and make consciously beneficial decisions for yourself. Feel free to shake up your workout routine and diet if you know you would be happier if you were in better shape, but don't make yourself miserable trying to achieve an exterior standard. There's no point in looking great if you feel like shit all the time, there really isn't.

Honesty I agree with your doctors it's not the biggest deal.

Emma Watson at age 23

She has terrible forehead wrinkles at age 23 (and at 26 now they're just as bad/worse) but no big deal. Emma's wrinkles are due to non-stop constant eyebrow/forehead lifting though (very obvious in her acting and interviews)

At 17 your skin is way too elastic with too much collagen to develop wrinkles by itself, so I'm guessing you move your forehead a lot. Stop doing that.

The most basic way to prevent/delay wrinkles is to hydrate your skin with a good moisturizer morning and night and to use sunscreen to prevent sun damage.

One thing I've done that 100% works (it sounds crazy but it really works and it's not a your mileage may vary, but it will work for everyone as long as your wrinkles aren't like super deep, but they shouldn't be at your age)...it's to stretch your forehead skin wide (with your fingers/hands) to smooth out the wrinkles and then to place tape firmly over it (while the skin is stretched wide) and do this before you go to sleep and leave it that way overnight. This will temporarily smoothen out the wrinkles and as long as you do not use your forehead muscle, it will stay wrinkle free. However, even just a day of moving your forehead muscles a bit will undo the effects immediately.

This is how frownies products work....but for long horizontal forehead wrinkles, what works imo better and easier is to use nexcare 3m tape

For your expression lines under your eyes and on the corners...you have two options that I've also used to excellent effect. But again, these are temporary, as in they really work well, but once you stop doing it or start doing a lot of expressive work, the lines come back.

Well hydrated skin stretches well...think of Paper. If you fold a piece of paper, you get a line down the center that doesn't go away even if you smooth out the paper right? But lets say you wet the paper and fold it...no wrinkles.

I know weird example lol because wet, soggy paper tears or breaks apart, but your skin obviously does not tear or break apart when wet and making expressions.

Anyway, in the morning you smooth a generous amount of Vaseline or aquaphor or cerave healing ointment over your expression lines (you have to use enough that it doesn't rub in and disappear). This will leave you looking greasy though and relatively noticeable to other people when they're at talking distance to you....but it keeps your skin extremely hydrated during the day that prevents the lines from making expressions like smiling and laughing and heals the current lines.

The alternative to this to avoid looking super greasy is to use a 100% silicone gel like scaraway but that's really expensive.

The tape method and Vaseline method heal existing wrinkles AND prevent new ones/worsening, but again they only work as long as you do it constantly and also limit your expression movement. Well, for the Vaseline, you can still smile a lot and it works, but you'll have to look greasy forever, whereas for the tape one, since it's at night, you don't need it during the day but if you use your forehead muscle during the day, the wrinkles come back gradually.

Retin a is excellent for wrinkles and the younger you start, the better the effects, but you have to be diligent about sunscreen use. Retin-A needs a prescription though and it doesn't sound like your doctors will prescribe you it, so you can get it through curology (relatively expensive at $240 a year) or cheaper through foreign pharmacies.

Glycolic acid is the same and it available OTC.

Are the lines caused by your pillow or are they caused by frowning? If they are caused by the pillow, you can try a beauty pillow that's designed to help you sleep on your back or take pressure off the majority of your face:

If they are caused by frowning in your sleep, try an Anti-wrinkle tape:

The nl lines get significant reinforcement while one sleeps, imagine when you’re sleeping on your side, how the crease there would get held in folded position for long durations. I would notice how they were more prominent right after I woke up, and they’d get less prominent over the course of the day. I’d freak out at the sight of them in the mornings when they first got noticeable.

Frownies are just hard paper in a shape that sits around the corners of the mouth comfortably, with water based glue on one side. One sprays some water on the side with the glue and lets it sit on the corners of the mouth all night, in the morning it’ll come right off if you wet the outer surface again (I just pull mine off because too lazy to wet surface)
It is wonderful to see my nl lines in the mornings now, they’re slightly pinched back and will go back to how they were the previous day gradually. I know my skin will insist on falling and I will continue to make all kinds of expressions, but the worsening is significantly retarded this way. It’s been wonderful discovering them for me.
You can buy them on amazon, they’re slightly expensive though. The pitch says they retrain the muscles and things like that, which I don’t know about, but even insofar as they mechanically just stop any crease reinforcement while sleeping, they’re wonderful. If you don’t want to get them on amazon, you can make them just as functional at home for super cheap. I hope you try them :)

These are frownies They're little adhesive patches you put over your lines while you sleep to keep you from moving your facial muscles in a way that would make your lines worse. By the end of the day, I get a single line between my eyebrows, so I was hoping frownies would maybe be a temporary solution before I'd have to resort to Botox, but alas!

I am only 20 and already have this fine line on my forehaead from raising my eyebrows as I've hooded eyelids and I'm a bit short sighted too. One thing that helps is moisture but I was looking into buying some Frownies from amazon. They are stickers to put on your forehead and between eyebrows that will prevent you from moving those muscles while you sleep. It's worth a try since there's so many good reviews on them.

Use Frownies!

I used to have the same problem and it was especially bad when waking up from sleep. It turned out I tend to frown during sleep. I started using these frownies every day before going to bed. The made me more aware of froning for some reason. Now I have better control over it even during the day. The best thing is, the existing frown lines disappeared already! It took some time to develop the habit but it certainly worked! You can also try using them during the day while at home alone.
