I have been using the Logitech G430 for about 8 months now for PC gaming and love them.

Some other possible headsets:

I used to have a Logitech G430 headset (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Surround-Sound-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00CJ5FPUE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1425656731&sr=8-4&keywords=gaming+headset) which is at your budget, that was very comfortable and lasted a long time, in fact it still works, I only upgraded to the G930 recently because I wanted a wireless headset, but if your budget sits at £50 the G430 is a great headset for the price, if you can stretch to ~£90, the G930 is just slightly more practical with the wireless capabilities. Both great choices in my opinion.

I've been using a Logitech G430 for nearly 2 years now. Pretty cheat headset, nice sounding with virtual 7.1 and pretty decent microphone, and the build quality is pretty nice (I have a big head and so far it didn't broke unlike 2 tritton headsets for more than double the price).

The headset by default had a pretty shitty sound quality, but after you turn on the Dolby 7.1 in the headset's driver, the difference is like Heaven and Hell.

My friend uses a Steelseries Siberia v2 and he's pleased with his too, though his headset's stripe got ripped but still in use.

For gaming, You don't need to spend a lot for a headset. If you're an audiophile you might consider going for higher price perephials, but for hearing things and talking to others you'll find decent ones for 50-80 pounds.

This is the best I could do without touching the video card which is the most important component for gaming. You probably need a headset as well I guess. If you really do, go with this build which will be exactly within budget:

Depending on which AAA games you play the video card might be enough for a good gaming experience. For some it might struggle with keeping 60+fps. Also here is a link to mouse/keyboard and here to the headset, for some reason their weren't listed on pcpartpicker.

Amazon warehouse items are 20% off cause black friday, so can get a basically new Logitech G430 for about £31. Link

HyperX Cloud II

  • Built in 7.1 Surround Sound that can easily be toggled on/off
  • 3 meter braided wire
  • Comfy as FUCK
  • Detachable microphone
  • Very reasonable price at around £70-£75

Probably the best headset I've ever used, and I've owned many headsets over my 14 years of gaming.

If you're looking for a cheaper headset with similar advantages, check out the Logitech G430 Gaming Headset, a lot cheaper at just £30, with a lot of similarities to the HyperX Cloud II.
u/JayTay79 · 2 pointsr/bapcsalesuk

Some very cheap stuff if you don't mind opened boxes and/or some slightly scuffed items. e.g. Logitech G430 headphones which are described as "Item will come repackaged. Small scratches on top of item (less than 0.6 cm. x 0.6 cm.)" drop to £32 once added to your basket you get to the checkout page.

u/King_of_All_the_Land · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

I see, well for £50 you could always get the G430, it's a really great headset with surround sound. Happy to help!

Location - UK

Budget - ~£60, flexible on price. Lower is also perfectly fine.

Source - Will be using them for Console gaming mostly but with a chunk of films and music also. So a bit of everything but mostly gaming.

Requirements for Isolation - Will be using them at home so no preference here, open or closed is fine.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Over Ear / Circumaural. I have a large head and fairly large ears and will be wearing them for fairly long periods of time for gaming so large cans would also be preferable.

Preferred tonal balance - Not too sure, whatever is best for the things which I will be doing. Maybe a bit more on the Bass side.

Past headphones - I am new to the world of decent headphones so my past consists of the bog standard apple and in ear Samsung earphones etc.

Preferred Music - Fairly general taste in music, little bit of everything but probably favour R&b/Rap and dance/ electro a bit more.

Notes - I have spent the past week looking into getting a pair of headphones but I am still fairly lost as to what to get with such a huge variety. The AD700s and Senn 558s and other models above those are widely recommended but they seem to cost almost twice as much in the UK as they do in the US and so they are out of my price range which is disappointing.
Audio Technica M50s and Senn HD 518s can be had for around £80 but they are really pushing it price wise for me unless they are definitely worth it. Found some cheaper Senns like the 419s or the 429s but what is their quality like? Sony MDR-V6s are also another pair i have seen recommended.

Obviously for gaming I would pair these with a clip on mic of some description. something like the Zalman clip on or similar and a 2 to 1 splitter to plug into the DS4 controller. The dislike of gaming headsets is well known but never the less I have seen a couple recommended here and there and they are reasonably priced so it's not a total loss if they are useless: [The Logitech G430] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CJ5FPUE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2LHKRQNKZ0EPX&coliid=I1XWGCGB108WMV) and the Plantronics GameCom 780.

PS4 will likely be my console of choice that I will be using these for if that makes any difference. I have seen lots of talk about surround sound in relation to gaming headphones but a lot of it seems to be for PC, will it function properly on consoles too? does anyone know if the sound would be impacted if I was to plug into the controller jack or the USB slot on the console?

Thanks in advance.

u/nimskido · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

Wow! This looks like an excellent build; thanks for going through the hassle and choosing the parts for me.

Couple of questions though:

  • For the monitor, isn't 21.5" quite small? Would this monitor be better even though its ~£15 more expensive?

  • Do you think the headphones are good for use with glasses? Because these Sennheisers hurt like fuck, especially when using them for a couple of hours. I also found this which is £40 cheaper, but I don't know about the quality etc. Surely, if it's more expensive, its better (sometimes lol). Or these.

  • Why do I need a £15 mousepad? What actual difference does it make than that of a cheap £5 mouse pad? Atm, I have the Fellowes Microban mousepad.

  • Is the cpu cooler needed even though the cpu is not over clockable? I've posted on /r/builadpc a few times and many have said that if you aren't overclocking, then there is no point for the cpu cooler since the stock does fine. Also, do you recommend that I buy additional case fans?

  • What's wrong with a laser pointer?

  • Are there any gpus which are better than the r9 280x? But for around £100 more?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I just wanna be completely certain before I buy my parts lol.
u/Teasylife · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Anyone recommend some good headphones/headset? I was thinking of getting this headset, or getting these headphones and a Zalman clip on mic. My budget isn't huge, but still want good quality mic and audio. Thanks.

Can anybody recommend a good binaural headset for no more than £50 ($76 / €63).
So far I've spotted this but would like your opinions on if this is good enough or if you know of any others that would be better

Then it´s the same that I have. I had an extremely hard time to hear footsteps with this headset.
Invested about 120 € and got myself said Hyperx Cloud Flight and now I can hear a thousand times better than before. The difference is literally night and day. And no, I´m not getting paid to advertise Hyperx xD

My friend has a g230 and tbh i think its just a shit headset, not great mic quality. I had a G430 for a few years and loved it. Try and return the G230 and you can get the G430s for the same price.

im not saying logitech is crappy, im just saying logitech for me is no different than your razer, steelseries and other big names based on my experience, my experience is my experience which you cant really change. 1 shitty logitech product is all i need for never considering any other logitech product.

what i perhaps havent yet said is that there is no super realiable good gaming mice in this world, every single one out there youll find reviews of broken mouse wheels and double clicking issues, same with headsets, you wont find a headset without its faults and tahts much different to keybaords or headphones where you wont see the same flaws frequently mentioned in the 1 star reviews because they just arent that bad products.

just for clarification, i had a logitech g430 which is a headset of them, it wasnt even good from the beginning, it comes with "7,1 surround sound" and that USB thing that allows it. to use that surround sound youd need the driver for it, if you download the driver, youll have random issues on skype or teamspeak where your friends would jsut randomly not be hearable for a few seconds, ive done hours of research into it, no solution, logitech themselves couldnt give me anything useful, how does this happen? it turns out the only solution that worked for me was to uninstall the logitech driver AND not use the USB adapter which means i wasted 20€ because the lower model does not have that 7,1 surround sound which was the difference between them.

that wasnt even build quality related, that was just shitty implementation by logitech. the sound is decent imo, not that bad actually but as i said the micro slowly fell apart and then the whole left part broke apart and i had to keep it together with tape.

and that headset on amazon has 3.5 stars which basically means awful. in fact looking at the reviews right now, MANY people are having that issue with the broken parts, some included pictures, look yourself https://www.amazon.de/product-reviews/B00CJ5FPUE/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_one?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews&showViewpoints=0

I have for a long time loved the Logitech G930.

For a LAN I'd go with G430 for $65. Since you probably wont be concerned with it being wireless and having the extra buttons/features of the G930.

It's very comfortable and sturdy, 7.1 Surround, great quality Mic. and I think they look pretty neat too.

A added bonus with this headset you get a USB portal soundcard so any other headsets you get in the future will work with the PS4.

Personally I'd say something such as the Logitech G430 would do fine for anyone who isn't doing anything professional (Youtube, Twitch, ect.)

Logitech G430. Bei mir ist zwar schon ein Bügel gebrochen, aber es ist mir in den 2 Jahren uach dutzende mal hingefallen. Trotzdem super Teil. Ist sogar gerade im Angebot. Mit 50€ wirst du da gut bedient.

I use the Logitech G430.

Initially uncomfortable, they eventually mould to the shape of your head and become very comfortable. Great surround sound and also usable on PC via USB. Only caveat is the Y Splitter required for them to work via your 3.5mm controller.
