However I recently picked up one of the NanoVNA and for just about $10 more than the one you linked this things is totally amazing. Here is a great YouTube video which is sort of a review and instruction video all in one.

Yes. I did it on my 2m vertical halfwave dipole for backpacking, to trim it to resonate on 146MHz (IIRC). It was an Elmer's analyzer so I don't know what brand.

The challenge with HTs is that a lot of things affect propagation, including resonance...like how you hold the HT, since your body is effectively the ground plane, how close you hold it to your body, what's around you when you test (for reflected energy), etc.

On a small inline SWR meter (the Surecom SW-33, great for backpacking), the SWR increased simply by holding the HT sideways (so the antenna became horizontally polarized). I think it was receiving reflected energy from the ground.

So try to match the measuring environment as close as possible to how you'll actually use the HT.

It comes with an adapter and a couple of Low Power dummy loads. Mixed reviews, but I really can't complain for the price. Checked it against a Bird Watt meter. Seems fairly accurate, given the price.
