Allow me to point out that Jim Davis not only loved the idea, but allowed a collection of strips to be published, and even contributed a few of his own.

I think G-G is fantastic, and I have to give Jim Davis some respect in regard to that, he could have had the site taken down for © infringement, but instead he went ahead and put out a book based on the concept and even had Dan Walsh write the forward. That's pretty progressive in comparison to most of his peers.

Note that Davis is generally pretty cool. He's on the record for enjoying the Garfield Minus Garfield remixes, and there's even a book. Reaching out to him and Dan Walsh would probably be a good idea.

Apparently, Mr. Davis is also publishing a garfield minus garfield book (or at the very least is listed as the author... I've done absolutely no research on this)

I think I'd get myself some Garfield Minus Garfield.
