Plenty of people did. His friends eventually refused to talk about the sport at all with him. I recommend his book, it's a good read with some fun behind the scenes facts in it.

That is Gary Goodridge who is an all time great in the MMA/kickboxing community who now suffers a brain related disease from all the wars in the ring and cage. He fought all the greats in mma from Fedor Emelianenko to kickboxing legends like Peter Aerts. Throw in a freak show match against Choi Hong Man as well.
