Treat this like you would a pet if you have one. Except it's going to do more than be a companion; you're going to teach it to be big and strong and you want what's best for it because it's going to give back to you in abundance if you treat it well.

If you can't afford it now just set aside $5-$10 a week until you have at least $80-$90 (Maybe even $50-60, for your very primitive, initial setup) or something. Many people will tell you to go the LED route, and while LEDs are great, you do not have to do that. You can easily go a CFL route and get an okay yield. Going the CFL route, you can add the lights as you go, so you're not all inning your budget, but doing so over time.

Please, do a bit of a research before attempting another plant, I looked at your history and you're using lawn fertilizer. Please, consider getting some General Hydroponics Nutrients, you do not have to use it for some time, again just save $5-10 a week until you can afford to buy it, it's very affordable and very worth using for your plant.

I'm a first time grower and have made a boat load of mistakes and if it weren't for this community and the combination of other resources out there I would have had a dead plant long ago, but I also spent a good 3-4 weeks of research on growweedeasy.com and YouTube when I was considering growing.

Pretty hard to not cut corners with only a $100 budget, but doable.

Someone did an analysis of those lights and found they were decent. You could get away with just one depending your space. I think they pull like 50W. The only things missing from this are pots, an exhaust (no idea what your setup requirements are), possibly a carbon filter if smell is a concern, and reflective material (cut up cheap space blankets if your closet isn't white).

If you're using filtered water especially, you need to use calmag when you water. order calmag+. Even if you're using nutes, you probably arent getting the right amount of calcium to your plants. Tap water is usually enough, but filtered water = everything is stripped. The bad AND the good.

I've had leaves that looked like that from calcium deficiency. Could also be a ph issue, but I would put money on calmag resolving it. start with calmag at 4mL per gallon, everytime you water. Hopefully wont happen again. Old leaves wont recover but new growth will be good.

Easy fix. Just start with your next watering (ASAP)

-----------------------

You can get around usng calmag by supplementing your soil with calcium (dolomite lime), but at this point in your grow your better off with a quick fix. Soil amendments take longer to become available compared to calmag liquid.

Youl also need to start feeding soon. Grab some GH Micro, GH Grow, and GH Bloom. $20 for 3 pack: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I4U0NYK/ref=asc_df_B01I4U0NYK5151235/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B01I4U0NYK&linkCode=df0&hvadid=193142362025&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18170519436049229030&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003499&hvtargid=pla-311792297271

GH Grow and micro for veg, then GH bloom and micro for flowering

u/Arcticflux · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

I really recommend switching over to a flowering nutrient. Seriously. Your plants won't be able to grow fruit (nice buds) without them.

And you don't have to break the bank either.

Something like this is very affordable, will last you a long time, and provide your plants with everything they need.

EDIT: I just want to add, that soil amendments or biostimulents are a bonus to a BASE Nutrient fertilizer. Meaning, they are less important than the base. So your Vital Fish product, is not as nearly as important at your Base Flowering nutrient. Pretend the Base Flowering Nutrient is a Car. A complete Car. Your Vital Fish product, is like an upgraded steering wheel. Pretty useless without the whole car there.

Got it, thanks. Currently I am using General Hydroponics Flora Grow, Bloom, Micro (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I4U0NYK). On their site they have a suggestion for starting, growing, and fruiting (https://genhydro.squarespace.com/nutrient-questions a 2 micro - 3 grow - 1 bloom ratio for vegetative), then adding that till the PPM get to where it states it should be from this site I reference in this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/hydro/comments/6m3mt5/where_to_find_the_proper_ppm_and_and_ph_for/?ref=share&ref_source=link).

Would these work? If not I'll probably end up going with the box. Would you spend the extra 20$ on the other tent?

So when I got home yesterday the big one from this video was droopy and looked very thirsty. I'm not sure why since the root ball is over 50% submerged in the nutrient solution. I added a little more plain water but now I worried. Could it be that the nutrient concentration was changed from "Aggressive Growth" to "Transition to Bloom"?

The nutrients are from the General Hydroponics line of liquid fertilizers. Just following the concentration charts on the label.
