When a 1080 can be had for $120 more right now this seems like such a bad buy, even if it's below current market pricing for it.

u/JamalJohnson1234 · 7 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Its also on Amazon for $644.99 with free shipping but it is in stock on September 11.

Here are the instructions for redeeming the code

u/Bellcheese · 7 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

You expect someone to pay £500 for essentially a 'used' card?

I'd sooner purchase this!

Proper buyer protection with solid customer service and a full warranty. Not sure you can get away with charging that price, hell I picked up a brand new GTX 1080ti for £582 on Amazon two weeks ago...

u/Coffinspired · 7 pointsr/pcgaming

So, is this actually happening to 1080's now, a small trend, or just an anomaly because all other GPUs aren't available?

I don't tend to follow GPU stock once I buy one. Checking Newegg/Amazon does show low stock and a lot of other "offers" that are high. GTX1080's north of $600.

But, then on Amazon I see this regularly priced card (though OOS):

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Windforce-GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD-Graphics/dp/B01IR6LMLO/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1500306667&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1080

Hmm.

EDIT: Browsing my local CL - I do see 2 posts of the "Looking for GPUs" variety, and they now include the gtx1080 in the list. I also see 2 1080's for $550-600. But, then I see two other 1080's for a more normal ~$400-500.

I don't know what to think...

Oh sorry, just from looking through the recent history i found that this was one of the lowest prices for a 1080, especially one that ships to canada. I did see the Jet deal and others similar to it but this is essentially a repost of this after it came back in stock, as it was posted here before.
Things like this are constantly getting posted here at the same price so i figured why not especially since this ships to canada (through newegg, which has the same deal but converted to CAD) Here are some examples of similar deals:

You're on Amazon.com, so that's in US Dollars, for the US website, 693 USD... that's nearly 900 Canadian dollars.

You would save nearly 200 Canadian dollars if you bought this instead: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01IR6LMLO/?tag=pcp0f-20

Also $644.99 on Amazon.ca

u/Gaaraxdk · 2 pointsr/bapccanada

Keep an eye on /r/bapcsalescanada/. Most of the 800-850 models are usually blower/founders edition. Those usually run a bit hotter and loader than the other models (you can recognize them by their single fan), but a 1080ti is still a 1080ti.

There are also 1080 deals like this, and occasionally even hit 600 dollars.

My go to budget case is the Corsair 100R or its silent version. They're both really solid cases that stay relatively inespensive.

Use the savings to get this 1080: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IR6LMLO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502241363&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Gtx+1080&dpPl=1&dpID=51bpp6rWCmL&ref=plSrch

that's interesting because my gigabyte 1080 is silent really even under load https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IR6LMLO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but it is a long card with three fans even though this card is only 10 mm shorter

u/KingBarracuda · 2 pointsr/RandomActsOfGaming

I wish the Nintendo Switch was out because I really want one.

As for things that are out, I would love to have either:
Divinity: Original Sin 2 which is $44.99

or some sort of GTX 1080 like this which is about $630.

A lot of people are going all out here, which I can't blame them as this opportunity really doesn't come along very often.

Would it be cool if I win if I could get an extra $1,000 donated to a charity? I'll have to do some research into which charity, but let's keep this love spreading.

u/xGhost_ · 2 pointsr/buildapc

nah, you can get a brand new gigabyte gtx 1080 here for $500.

u/KCONS · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Wow that is a pretty good deal. Ive been looking at the Gigabyte card as it does look a bit cheaper. Amazon has the windforce for $676 (https://www.amazon.ca/Gigabyte-GeForce-Windforce-GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD-Graphics/dp/B01IR6LMLO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1501738353&sr=8-3&keywords=gtx%2B1080&th=1). Ive heard EVGA is a bit better, but im hearing the other way as well.

u/digisax · 2 pointsr/buildapc

An 8600k is a great choice and it'd save you $110 so you could upgrade to a 1070ti (link) or 1080 (link) to get better gaming performance.

The k chips don't come with stock coolers anymore, and the stock coolers wouldn't be adequate anyway. Since you don't plan to OC, a Cryorig H7 (link) would fit the bill too keep it cool and quiet while still fitting in the same budget.

u/dkboy1995 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace
u/martindm03 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

A GTX 1080 would be a great choice.

u/x_Sligh_x · 2 pointsr/buildapc

One could argue that your GPU is a little overboard for the monitor, as a 1070 should do pretty good at 1080p, even at 144hz, but if a 1080 is in the budget, then that's what you should get. I would however, avoid the "Founders edition" card in favor of a partner board with better cooling. That price is also not great. Check out this one, or this one and save yourself a little money and get a better card in the process.

That Deal Ferret review is not including Amazon, you know the place where the majority of people buy their components...

https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-Windforce-GeForce-Internal/product/B01IR6LMLO

Include Amazon own pricing in the side bar and set it to the past year and you can see it was at £440 since July until like a week ago when it has briefly dropped out of stock. So no its not BS you are just posting a "deal" that isnt a deal and im just trying to ensure people dont buy into it because you didnt take the time to do a simple price check, dont get so defensive this is a helpful sub Reddit not a karma farm.

Hello, I am looking at building my first PC and I'm still learning everything I need to know. Hopefully I'm making sense when trying to ask this, if not I can try to clarify it.

I was looking at Graphics Cards to see the price range of a few and I came across this Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 for $629. However all the other 1080's are $100 or $200 higher. The questions sections explains why this is but I'm wondering when new graphics cards come out, How do you know when it's the right time to buy? and when It's just a hold off due to it being a reference card(?)

u/MrGhost370 · 1 pointr/gaming

u/xwater · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Hey there.

I'm looking at getting into that 1080 life, so I was browsing cards today. Saw this and was wondering if there was a particular reason it's so cheap
on newegg -- on amazon
$644 CAD for a 1080 was the lowest price i saw by miles, anyone have insight as to why it's so much cheaper than others?

u/guiguithug69 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

There's a version without rgb : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01IR6LMLO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_miNRAbNVPRCT5

(I bought it 5 months ago for only 650$ canadian now it's at 1128$ canadian)

u/leafcutter64 · 1 pointr/news

I read it from this pcgamer article, from over 2 weeks ago. 1080 for ~$800. Then, I checked on amazon - Here's Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce for $760.

I got a 1080 (EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX) back in early July'17 for $550. It's truly sad how the prices have skyrocketed due to alt-coin farming demand. A friend of mine is waiting on prices to drop to reasonable levels - and is almost considering getting a pre-assembled kit.

u/MunicipalBlack · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

For this card? https://www.amazon.ca/Gigabyte-GeForce-Windforce-GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD-Graphics/dp/B01IR6LMLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502508063&sr=8-1&keywords=1080+windforce

Return it for that price, that's way to much considering they've dipped to $660-$665 (before tax) a few times over the past couple weeks.

u/SundownKid · 1 pointr/buildapc

That particular model of 1070 has no backplate and 1070s in general are super overpriced nowadays. Just get this 1080 instead:

u/SmolTreeInABottle · 1 pointr/buildapc

The monitor you linked is $250 dollars in Canada, well things in Canada are a lot more expensive because of the exchange rate. Yes, G-Sync requires a Nvidia card. If you can't find 1080s on Amazon try using pcpartpicker.com. If you want to buy specifically from Amazon you can use the Merchants/Pricing filter to limit it to Amazon. It looks like the cheapest good 1080 (reputable manufacturer, good cooler) on amazon at this time is this Gigabyte one.

Also about the screen you recommended, is there any reason to go for it over comparatively priced 4k options?

Thanks~

u/villagepark2 · 1 pointr/bapccanada

I think on a 2.2k build it's a shame to not get a gtx1080 especially after it just got a $100 price drop and the 1070 didn't. Here is one for $694 only $120ish (20% ish) more than he 1070 you linked which would give 20-25% more gaming performance for about 5% more cost on the entire rig. It is also red and black.

On a good day (or with a time machine) you should be able to find a 1080 for your budget. Keep in mind that a high end GPU won't bring you more joy when paired with just a pentium(extreme example)

u/Bellegr4ine · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Thanks man,

Any ideas why this one is cheaper than the others? Its tempting at this price. It's like 50$ more than a 1070.

Or maybe should I go with the STRIX

u/squidbrand · 1 pointr/buildapc

Do not buy that card. It's a 1070Ti that's more than the price of some 1080's. Terrible deal. An air-cooled 1080 would be cheaper, quieter, and better by a good margin.

Hi guys, really quick question regarding my GPU. I'm working on my first build and I ordered the graphics card linked below. Will that card work with a GSync enabled monitor or do I need an "official" Nividia card in order to do that.

I'm confused how there are different brands of the same GTX 1080 card.

Sorry if this is a really dumb questions I'm just paranoid the card I ordered won't work.
