The Korean hot pepper paste that everyone should have in their kitchen. I use the shit in so much stuff I make it would be easier to list the things I do not use it in. It is fantastic stuff.
Also, when I go to ramen shops to get a "spicy" version of different bowls, they have that scoop of that red paste. I believe it's their house version of gochujang.

It is a korean ingredient that is a fermented paste that is spicy. Interestingly there is no scoville rating for it because it's rated on a different scale of spicy. I don't know why. I like how the heat hits you and it has a wonderful earthy and sweet flavor.
I always put a teaspoon worth in teriyaki sauce to give it a little extra flavor with a cool little spicy finish. I also use it to make super spicy wings and sauce for fried chicken. This is what I buy.
