I just re-did my wishlist today because I just joined RAOA, but I have kept multiple for years, and I have to say... Vinyl is notorious for price fluctuations. I mean it - EVERY single vinyl on any of my lists has changed price drastically. I think this is the biggest drop at the moment - It was around 30-32 when I added it a few years ago. But I don't know if that counts because it's temporarily out of stock. :P But it did basically halve its price. (I mean look, the used prices are even higher than the new price!) That price is low low low. :P

Edit: I think I'm late. D'Oh! Still doesn't change how vinyl's prices still never cease to amaze me. :P

Can we all agree that re-issues of albums that are still widely available in the marketplace are a terrible thing?

Can we then further agree that making the re-issue limited edition, colored and number stamped and more than the cost of the original makes it even worse?

Lastly, if we can agree to those things, can you agree to not order this album and cancel your pre-order if you have ordered this album and buy the original from your local shop or amazon?

As long as businesses see that they can charge more for a product by creating false collectability the trend in vinyl pricing and releasing won't change.

I love to make music because it lets me express myself without using words. I'm not the best wordsmith; I'm pretty awkward and have a bit of a stutter but music is music, you don't have to think of questions or make small talk, you just play. Can I ask why you bought the Newbury Comics version instead of the mass press? I guess you're free to do whatever you want but that's just rewarding Newbury for repressing things that are still in print and charging more for it. ($22 from Newbury and <$16 if you get the mass press from Amazon or a record shop.)

Totally jealous of LCW, though. One of those that I will get when I have some extra cash.

edit: Sorry guys for wondering why someone would buy a record from a company that is just taking advantage of the recent record boom. Buy whatever the hell you like, I guess...
