So I don't have this model, but mine - the Everest - has a similar bassinet configuration. It is only half the length of the PnP, a sort of mini crib bassinet, and the base of the PnP folds up on the sides to create the bassinet part - just like yours.

Now - from what I understand, something cannot be marketed as a "crib, bassinet, or cot" unless it meets the requirements for safe sleep. So... technically... I guess the side walls are okay?

However - in my personal experience - fuck these goddamn sidewalls. My son started sleeping in the raised bassinet part of our PnP when he was 2 months old. Multiple times that first week I woke up to find him smashed up against the side of the bassinet with his face right up against the solid sides. It freaked me out so much we decided to just move his crib into our room, rather than continue using the bassinet of our PnP.

Of course, YMMV - but if I knew then what I know now, I would have gone with a different model of PnP. One that had a full length bassinet with mesh sides all around.

I do want the mini changing table. I'm trying to decide between this and this. I can't decide if spending an extra $100 is wasting money out of fear of the unknown or if getting the less expensive once is just being cheap and I'll regret actually living with it.
