Her experience was that she got a big contraption stroller and just never used it, but that she really enjoyed babywearing. Then she recommended a sling she liked. Husband and I had been browsing slings, because it's something he wants to do too, but then he saw the fancy strollers and got all googly-eyed.
Another thing was that I'd been on the fence about infant car seat vs. convertible. The random lady's experience was that she appreciated the portability of the infant seat which is what I'd been leaning toward. So Husband and I decided to get an infant car seat with a basic car seat carrier stroller and we can each pick out the slings we want. We can get a convertible car seat later. Truthfully, we're just not going to use a stroller all that much in our lifestyle, at least not right away, so we can get the cheapo deal and transition to a stroller later that fits our needs as we discover what they are exactly.
I don't know why but I go into this like I'm marrying the product and will have no recourse once the decision is made!
I'm thinking we will want a SnugRide Classic Connect 35 car seat because it is installed with the European System when not on its base. So we would want a stroller compatible with that car seat. We have seen the basic Graco car seat carrier and the Classic Connect Fold Strollers. I'm open to other suggestions, though :)
I didn't like how the travel system takes up the full trunk of the car. I got a hand me down carrier stroller. It's a frame the holds the infant bucket seat. So you can push it when you want or carry it from the car. It's lightweight compared to the travel systems.

I have a bad back and almost went with just the convertible seat, but decided against it when a friend who gave birth last year during winter fell in her driveway while carrying the baby. Thankfully he was in the infant carrier otherwise it could have been very bad.
I got this infant seat because it's lightweight compared to the other model and goes up to 30 lbs.
