John Prine- Great Days- The John Prine Anthology
It's a little lame of a recommendation but I started with the anthology Great Days. It's a fantastic two disc set with a ton of good songs. The only song I feel it lacks is Six O'Clock News, one of the saddest but best songs he ever wrote. Maybe they thought it would be too much to have Sam Stone and Six O'Clock News on the same anthology :'(
