Amazon.com has a couple of options. The more comprehensive of the Best of Albums is The Essential Earth, Wind & Fire. It appears to have all of their hits from the 1970's to the 2000's.

An cheaper alternative, is Earth Wind & Fire Greatest Hits. This compilation has less songs than The Essential and it doesn't include all of their hits, but the hits here were probably their biggest ones from the 1970s through the early 1980s (arguably their heyday).

In my opinion, artists that are similar to EW&F would include The Isley Brothers, The Commodores, and maybe Kool & The Gang.
