Well only a part of those 50 issues are worth reading, If you're going to read New 52 Green Arrow, ONLY read 17-34 by Jeff Lemire, which was just released in one big collection. The issues before 17 are terrible and unneccesary. Everything after 34 has been somewhere between terrible and mildly interesting.
I'd read the entirety of Mike Grell's work. Start with Hunter's Moon and work from there.
After that, for a more modern take on GA, read Jeff Lemire's work, the whole of which was recently collected in a HC Deluxe edition.
Going from the start of Rebirth, these are all pretty good for the most part (I only read Marvel, and these were the DC series that got me reading DC regularly)
There's a lot of good stuff in the Rebirth era, and that's the easiest jumping on point if you want to read from a #1.
I haven't read much but vol. 1 of the New 52 Justice League by Geoff Johns is good. And Green Arrow by Jeff Lemire is one of my favorites.

Green Arrow is my fave. I don’t know how the collected editions will work but you can definitely grab the TPBs for Rebirth.
I also strongly recommend the Lemire/Sorrentino run. It is the only other deluxe edition and one of the few printed comics I own (I read digitally). There’s actually two versions!

The newer one is paperback and a bit cheaper.
The description must be wrong. Is it this book?
