GarageBand!
It costs $5, but it is so worth it.
Also, you can skip the amp and get one of these...

GarageBand has some great amp modeling and effects.

If you're plugging it into a macbook there are easier ways to do it.

You might, but you'll have no way to monitor your playing. I use this cable to plug my guitar into my phone. FWIW, I find that GarageBand's amp modeling and effects leave a lot to be desired. Generally, Ampkit is a much better app in terms of sounds and recording capabilities. You can download it for free and it comes with a Peavy Valveking, a noise gate and a Tube Screamer clone. I just caught a sale and unlocked all the amps and effects for $15. What I really like about it is that you can change presets during playback of your recordings. GarageBand has nothing like that as far as I can tell.

Oh word, is this what you have?

If so I wouldn't think you would need a driver actually. Your input definitely should be set to your microphone, assuming you are plugged into your microphone jack on your computer. I would go into your Recording Devices in windows (right click on the little speaker at the bottom right of your task bar) and checking to see if you are getting input there.

Alright. I'm tired of this argument. I gave you all the technical reasons why you no longer need to rely on SAPA.

The guitar video has no external decoding. That's your wishful thinking. It's plugged in as a microphone input with a TRRS connection. Read the video description. https://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Technology-GuitarConnect-Cable-iPhone/dp/B003VWZJEQ

All the apps I listed do live processing over Analog inputs (microphone/guitar) and over MIDI.

You should check out apps like AndRig or FreeDrum which are like the ones you said.

I'm not in the musical scene, so I don't know apps. I know the framework as a developer. You can YouTube search the apps and look for midi input or analog input. I found 2 for G-Stomper: MIDI Keyboard and MIDI to MIDI with two tablets and that's MIDI which requires conversion vs analog audio.
