Ok, Wikipedia says that
According to wikipedia, the boston school distict has 57,230 students. According to wikipedia, boston is 124 km2.
I picked a random blender with a 40 fl oz cup. (amazon).
According to a reddit map, it takes over 60cm of snow for school to be cancelled in the boston area.
normal blender = 40 oz - maybe half of that when full? = 20z = 591.470592 cm3
snow height = more than 60cm
124 km2 = 1,240,000,000,000 square centimeters
1,240,000,000,000 cm2 (60cm2) = 7.44e13 cm3
7.44e13 cm3 snow needed / 591.470592 cm3 = 125788164291 blender loads
125788164291 blender loads/57,230 students = 2197941.01505 loads/student (at least)
wow. that seems like a lot- I might have done something wrong...
edit: as rrnate pointed out, the map actually doesn't how 60+cm- it shows 30 cm. Oops!
So it would be
1,240,000,000,000 cm2 (30cm2) = 3.72e13 cm3
3.72e13 cm3/591.470592 cm3 = 6.28941e10 blender loads
6.28941e10/57230 = 1,098,970.50753 loads/student
thanks for catching that!

Holy crap it takes them $235 to make a single unit? That's surprising considering it's primarily plastic [injection mold] with some off-the-shelf electronics.
Edit: I wondered how much each major part of the Coolest Cooler would cost if I purchased each component individually:
Total RETAIL Cost for the above products: $238.38 (and I could have gone cheaper)
I'm perplexed as to how the heck it costs Coolest Cooler $235/unit when I can assemble the same thing at retail cost for just a few dollars more on Amazon.

700W motor for $27 or so. Probably the most power you're gonna get on a budget. Any thing in the kilowatt range seems to be in the Benjamin price range.
Either that or hit up Craigslist, but I'd be extremely wary of used blenders.
I bought this one 3 months ago. No complaints.
I've started pulling my fruits the night before to make blending quick and easy. I use my blender every day as I do a smoothie for breakfast and lunch.
Doesn't seem to be showing any signs of wear. I wasn't looking to drop a lot of money so this has been good.
Congrats!!
Hmmm. My SO says I should say January 6th so I'll trust him.:)
Also a healthy boy!!
20 dollar thing
40 dollar thing
...Because we're seriously lacking in the kitchen appliance department.
Best of luck!!
I have this blender and it's actually really decent for $27. It gets through spinach with no issue.
