You are going to want your composite video to be the output on the converter and have the HDMI be the input. Normally it's the other way around with someone trying to take an old device and bring it over to HDMI.

You may want to bring up an old manual for that CRT. I'm sure you can find one online somewhere and make sure that the converter box will output a signal that the TV will accept.
