Your phone isn't going to output an analog video signal on its own, and it's likely it doesn't have drivers for the USB>RCA adapter. It'll never work well, but if it's possible to make it work at all, it'll probably be by first getting HDMI out from the phone, then adding an active adapter to turn the digital signal on the HDMI cable into analog audio and video signals that the DVD player can handle on RCA with something like this. I've had mixed results with those devices, but I've been able to use them to connect HDMI sources to old CRT TVs.

This one works for me.

Pi and Arduino were both from microcenter and I already had both . Everything else was originally from amazon. Not factored into my cost was the power supply. I already had one in my media center setup and was able to piggy back off that.

I'm gonna reply before you waste your money.

This is NOT what you will need and does NOT do what you want it to. On the product page, it even says, "This cable functions as a signal transmitter, but NOT a signal converter." Cables like are not what you're looking for.

What you ARE looking for is this.

EDIT: Looks like you might actually need RCA.

Not that I'm aware of, I had to purchase an adapter.

LPT2: Get one of these things.

Never know when you'll have a chromecast and an old tv. Or vice versa.

I have a pretty good RetroArch setup on my PC, and I want to go from my PCs HDMI port, to RCA on my little Sylvania TV.

I see a lot of cheap boxes and cables like these https://www.amazon.com/RCA-GANA-Composite-Converter-Adapter-Supporting/dp/B01KXI8LZE is that all I need? Or will that not get me the retro look I have in mind for this?
